The Podjavorinské Museum in Nové Mesto nad Váhom (New Town-on-Váh) resides at a formerly Renaissance building, rebuilt in Baroque style in 17th century, which is called the Giláni´s House or the "Gilánovec" (named by one of the owners). The Museum originated in 1950. Since seventies of 20th century it has been a specialized branch of Trenčín Museum with a historical and homeland-scientific research, but first of all it´s specialized in the research of literature´s history. In the rooms of the Museum, there is installed an exposition devoted to the history of Nové Mesto (New Town) and surroundings; its culture and traditions. It is divided into particular parts dedicated to archeology, history, ethnography and the history of craft guilds in Nové Mesto and surroundings. A separate part makes visitors acquainted with a rich spiritual history of this region.
